Hampshire Wedding Videographer

HAMPSHIRE VIDEOGRAPHY THAT'S UNMISTAKABLY YOU

Hi, I'm Chris. It's so good to meet you

A bride sees her father for the first time on her wedding day at Silchester Farm in Hamsphire.

Hey, I'm Chris Spice - a Southampton based videographer, traveller, and creative, but more than anything, a husband and a dad. I make real, heartfelt films that are bursting with love, laughter, and the story only you could tell.

Weddings are beautiful displays of love - a coming together of family and friends for a once-in-a-lifetime experience - but your wedding film doesn’t have to be boring, slow motion footage of you staring into each other’s eyes.

I want you to watch your film back and get that same on-the-day buzz you felt when you were right there.

"I edit to the heartbeat of your day — all the buzz, laughter and celebration — but I'll never let a stolen glance or a quiet tear slip through the cracks. "

You're the kind of couple who just wants to show up as yourselves. Adventure-lovers. Experience-seekers. Silly with each other and proud of it. You don't follow the wedding rulebook to the letter because your day is a celebration of you, not something that needs to be bogged down with tradition.

Sound familiar? Then read on!

SOUTHAMPTON BASED VIDEOGRAPHER

Naturally captured
Moment led.
Energy filled.

My approach is relaxed, documentary-style storytelling with a cinematic, creative edge. Think of me as a calm, enthusiastic friend with a camera; jumping into the fun to keep the energy alive, then stepping back to let the real moments breathe.

01

Blend In

I know when to be part of the party, and when to disappear into the background and let the moments you'll never forget play out naturally.

02

Real Moments

The lingering hugs, the proud glances, friends losing it during speeches — but also the dancing, the chaos, the pure joy of it all. That's what I'm there for.

03

Honest

Documentary storytelling at heart, with a creative edit that captures the buzz and energy of your day just as much as the quiet, beautiful bits.

04

Hampshire Based

Based in Hampshire, I'm a wedding videographer covering the South of England — from the New Forest to the South Downs, Winchester to Southampton. Close enough to know the venues, local enough to feel like a familiar face on your wedding day.

Top 3 Best Hampshire Wedding Venues

Historic brick mansion with ornate glass conservatory and garden, people gathered on lawn.
  1. Avington Park

We love Avington Park for it's large outdoor areas that just offer so much variety for your ceremony location or reception drinks. From the huge lawn outside the orangery,  to the riverside area where you can arrive to your guests in style by boat, we love the variety that a wedding venue with lots of spaces can bring.

The orangery is a lovely, bright space for your wedding breakfast and from a video perspective, offers great lighting no matter what the weather is outside.

Not forgetting the unique experiences like partying away in a library, arriving to your guests by boat, and you might even spot one of the household Peacocks!

Avington is really a blend between the Hampshire countryside and that 'English elegance' feel. On another note, the sunsets here are just perfect.

2. Silchester Farm

Silchester farm is perfect for it's range of spaces, a stunning outdoor ceremony area and a modern barn that will blow you and your guests away the first time you see it.

We love that you can take your guests on a journey, first starting with the lakeside outdoor ceremony area, heading over to the courtyard outside the hen house for the reception drinks and then finally to the incredible cow shed for your dinner and dancing.

There's so many areas for your guests to explore, and lots of space for couple portraits. If it rains, there's always the dutch barn, an open sided sheltered barn that still lets in the light but will protect you from the elements.

Silchester Farm is located in Silchester, Hampshire, not far from Reading.

3. Millbridge Court

With Millbridge Court,  you still get that barn wedding experience, but with large windows and a fresh interior, the venue brings a modern barn feel to your wedding. It offers an intimate feel with everything in one place, while being big enough to accommodate most wedding sizes

The outdoor ceremony is perfect for a ceremony and makes for a great location for your group shots and couple portraits. The wedding breakfast room is large and bright, so you know you won't be left with a dark barn on a sunny day.

The 'getting ready' room is also really spacious and offers plenty of lights and mirrors for your and your party. There's even a sneaky one way window to your ceremony area so you can watch your guests arrive while you get ready!

FAQs

General Questions -

How Much does a Hampshire Wedding Videographer cost?

Hampshire wedding videography packages with Spice Wedding Films start at £2,499. Most Hampshire couples customise from there - whether that's a longer highlight film, full ceremony coverage, or adding a keepsake edit with your raw footage. Pricing reflects the full day rather than an hourly rate, so you're covered from getting ready through to the first dance regardless of your venue, whether that's a New Forest barn or a grand Winchester estate.

How far in advance should we book a wedding videographer?

For Hampshire weddings, I would recommend booking 8-14 months ahead. Hampshire is one of the most popular wedding counties in the South — venues like Avington Park, Silchester Farm, and Clock Barn fill their Saturdays quickly, and videographers tend to book out at the same pace. July & August are particularly high demand. If your date is sooner than that, it's always worth reaching out - I do occasionally have availability for shorter-notice bookings.

Do you travel internationally for weddings?

Absolutely - and being based in Southampton makes it really easy for me. With direct ferry routes and quick airport access, I regularly travel to Europe and beyond for destination weddings. If you're planning a Hampshire ceremony followed by a destination honeymoon shoot, or simply want a videographer you already trust to travel with you, visit our Destination Weddings page for more.

What are the best wedding venues in hampshire?

Hampshire has some of the most varied and beautiful wedding venues in the South of England. From a filming perspective, a few stand out: Avington Park near Winchester offers incredible natural light through its Georgian windows and sweeping grounds. Silchester Farm blends rustic barns with open countryside - fantastic for golden-hour drone shots. Clock Barn in Whitchurch is a favourite for its intimate feel and beautifully converted space. The New Forest venues are spectacular in autumn, and the coastal spots near Southampton offer a completely different feel. I've filmed across Hampshire extensively and am happy to share honest venue advice based on what works well on film.

Travel and Logistics -

Is there any extra travel cost to pay?

No extra travel costs for Hampshire weddings - it's my home county. I’m based in Southampton, so anywhere within Hampshire is well within my standard coverage area. I also cover the surrounding counties at no extra charge: Dorset, West Sussex, Surrey, Berkshire, and the Isle of Wight are all within comfortable range. Beyond a roughly 2-hour radius, I'd typically ask for one night's accommodation to make sure I arrive fresh and unhurried on your wedding morning.

When do you leave and arrive for a wedding?

For Hampshire weddings I typically arrive around 3 hours before your ceremony - enough time to capture the getting-ready details, the nervous excitement, and all those quiet moments before the day gets going. I stay through your first dance and the early dancing, then leave you to enjoy your evening. If your venue has a stunning Hampshire sunset (and many do), I'll always make time for a quick golden-hour moment with you two before the light disappears.

Videography and Editing -

Do you use drone footage for Hampshire weddings?

Yes - and Hampshire is genuinely one of the best counties for aerial footage. The New Forest, the South Downs, the River Test valley, and the coastline around Southampton Water all look stunning from above. I’m CAA-certified and always check airspace restrictions and weather before flying. Most Hampshire venues are drone-friendly, though I always confirm in advance. When conditions allow, aerial shots add a real sense of place to your wedding film — something that's especially powerful in a county with Hampshire's landscape.

How do you incorporate the ceremony & speeches into the film?

The ceremony and speeches are the backbone of every film I make. Rather than treating them as separate sections, I weave them through the edit as a narrative thread - a line from the vows cutting beneath a dancing shot, a moment from a speech running over the confetti walk. I always make sure the best lines make it in. Take a look at my portfolio films for examples of how this works in practice.

Will we receive raw footage from our wedding?

A full day of filming runs to many hours of material that's far more meaningful once it's been shaped into a film. If you do want everything I captured, my 'keepsake edit' package includes all your unedited footage alongside your finished films, exactly as it was recorded on the day. This is included in the Diamond Collection.

Booking and Payment -

How do we book your for our wedding videography?

  1. Fill out our contact form with your wedding date, venue, and a bit about what you're looking for.

  2. We'll arrange a call to get to know each other and talk through your vision for the day.

  3. A signed contract and £250 deposit secures your date in the diary.

I typically respond to enquiries within 24 hours.

When will payments be due?

After the initial £250 booking deposit, half the remaining balance is due 6 months before your wedding, with the final balance due 1 month before the day. All payments are via bank transfer and you'll receive a receipt for each one.
