5 Stunning Hampshire Wedding Venues

As a wedding videographer in Hampshire, I’ve had the pleasure of filming weddings in so many incredible wedding venues, from barns to hotels to old English houses.

In this blog post I wanted to share my absolute favourite amongst those that I’ve been to. If they’re on this list, it means they’re held to my (pretty high) standard of what makes a great wedding venue.

This ranges from a selection of different areas and spaces to take your wedding on a journey, top ‘getting ready’ rooms, great light and most importantly, top tier service. My couples always give me feedback on how their venue is throughout the day so I get a really good idea of how each venue operates on the day.

Grab a coffee, sit back and let’s take a look at some of the best wedding venues in Hampshire.

Avington

Weddings at Avington are an absolute dream. Set only a few miles from Winchester, Avington is the perfect blend of the Hampshire countryside and that modern, elegant wedding style.

Avington’s grounds are what sets it apart from any other venue on this list - the huge grounds provide a perfect backdrop for an outdoor ceremony, a boat ride after you tie the knot, or a reception drinks in the sun.

Not to forget that bright, open-air orangery for your wedding breakfast and a unique library spot for your evening party.

I’ve been here a few times now and every single time the co-ordinators have worked seamlessly with the catering team to ensure everything goes perfectly on time. You can go hard on decorating the venue to make it your own, or leave it minimal, and either way it looks stunning.

As a bonus, the sunsets here are incredible!

Millbridge Court

If you’re looking for that perfect barn wedding, but you want something a bit more bright, airy & modern, then Millbridge Court in Hampshire could be the wedding venue for you. A lot of my couples who choose this venue, do so because they love the barn vibe, but want something a bit more modern and elegant.

Millbridge Court sits just above Frensham and near Blacknest, putting it right on that Hampshire & Surrey border, but it’s location means it’s easy to get to if you’ve got guests coming from all over the UK.

Millbridge Court has a stunning, secluded outdoor ceremony area which is one of my favourites in Hampshire. The venues private gardens are perfect for your reception drinks. with everything being so close to the main event so you’re unlikely to have guests wondering around. This creates an almost ‘intimate wedding’ feel while still providing plenty of space for guests.

The wedding breakfast room and indoor ceremony/party room has huge windows on one side that flood the rooms with light, again accentuating that modern barn feel. This is something missing from a lot of the rustic barns so I do love this.

Silchester Farm

Silchester Farm is set in a remote location between Basingstoke & Reading, and offers the perfect location for a classy, modern barn wedding.

The outdoor ceremony area offers views of the pond, and there’s huge spaces for guests to mingle during your reception drinks. The gardens are perfectly looked after, and it’s also a working farm, so you’ll see some of the animals wondering the grounds next door.

Personally I love Silchester because of it’s large indoor and outdoor spaces. For your afternoon and evening reception, the space outside the Cow Shed is one of the biggest open spaces I’ve seen at a wedding venue in Hampshire, and is perfect for a summer’s day.

Equally, if you’re having a wedding out of season, then the Cow Shed itself is a huge open barn to enjoy your wedding breakfast, with large windows on one side and a snug/barn on the other side. This barn is so versatile, and with those large light fixtures, you can really leave the barn untouched to save some money in the budget and the barn will still look epic.

I personally love this venue for the journey that you can take your guests on. From the Lakeside ceremony area, to the Hen House Courtyard for reception drinks, then off to the Cow Shed for your wedding breakfast followed by evening drinks in the Courtyard. Then back into the Cowshed for your party. I just think having different areas for different parts of the day is a super impressive part of having a Silchester Farm Wedding.

Bury Court Barn

Bury Court Barn is a stunning wedding venue set just between Basingstoke & Aldershot. It offers the perfect balance of large outdoor areas, and a barn that can give those rustic feels, but still keeps things spacious and modern.

I love Bury Court for the large barn area for your wedding breakfast, which can also be used for a larger wedding ceremony. It just strikes the perfect balance of being elegant and looking great, but also having that cosy rustic vibe too.

Personally, I also love the gardens at Bury Court - I think they’re a real selling point of a Bury Court Barn Wedding. The gardens offer the perfect spot for your guests to enjoy their reception drinks, and they very much have the ‘wow’ factor as guests can walk around and admire the different flowers.

I’ve barely scraped the surface when it comes to Bury Court, but on top of everything I’ve mentioned, the outdoor ceremony area is beautiful, and the sunsets at this venue are just unreal.

Clock Barn

Clock Barn is a wedding venue in Whitchurch, Hampshire, and it offers an intimate space for a rustic barn wedding. The barn itself is not huge, but it’s your own secluded private space for your wedding.

The enclosed gardens provide the perfect amount of space for your wedding guests to hang out, while also making sure everyone is one place, so you still get that intimate feel for your wedding day.

The actual farm is a huge open area and so there feels like unlimited places to get your couple photos and videos. The lane next to the barn provides the perfect backdrop for some quick couple photos, but I think the sun sets best in the secret garden at the back of the barn!
